    Baclofen and upset stomach

Did anyone else experience upset stomach while on Baclofen? Did it improve?

My stomach problems aren't severe enough to stop taking it, because it's working really well for my spasticity. But I'll have stomach cramps and then suddenly have to run to the bathroom, which is pretty bothersome. I'm just hoping it'll get better after I've been on it longer.

    Hi leaf tree,

Nausea is actually listed as one of the more common possible side effects of baclofen. Abdominal pain or discomfort, along with diarrhea, is listed as some of the less common side effects.

Baclofen stimulates gastric acid secretion and should be used with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcereration. http://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/medi...blets+BP+10mg/

Give it some time and, hopefully, your body is one that adjusts to the medicine! Take the medicine with food (try to avoid the spicy stuff) and talk to your doctor if this continues ...

    Best wishes ,
