    Facing the posibility of MS

Today took the cake. I landed in the ER for slight facial numbness/lack of sensation.

My medical Background: Widespread muscle spasms/cramps, fatigue, GERD, PCOS (not confirmed, but suspected by OB- likely PCOS after CT confirmed large ruptured cyst), Widespread joint issues, Budging discs at c4-c7 (from car accident), Encroachment at c6-c7, Mild Scoliosis, Surgically confirmed Chondromalacia, Pain in just about every joint possible(difficulty walking sometimes), unexplained low grade fevers, Tingling in hands/legs/arms (thought it was from neck injury...), Diagnosed with Carpel Tunnel, Issues with eye twitching. I also have fatigue and have had brain fog a lot. Once I went almost completely blind for about 30 minutes, I could barely see to call for help.

Ok, with that said - I'm 27 and a Reg. Respiratory Therapist with ACLS Cert. I know what a stroke is, I don't think this is it. My GP's nurse practitioner (DR was unavailable) sent me to the ER, since I have been experiencing this issue(facial numbness) for a week and also some eye budging. Face was symmetrical, no apparent issues. Although I knew what had to be done(Neuro & MRI), I went to the ER anyway out of fear and panic LOL. CT came back clean, I trust the ER doc I seen (have worked codes with him and in the ER before)- he was wise and told me to see a Neurologist - but CT was clean. Said I needed an MRI ( I also agreed with this).

I am going to make an appointment with my GP to get a referral for tomorrow or Saturday. I live in Eastern KY, I don't trust most doctors within a 75 mile radius - I definitely don't trust specialists in my area. I considered UK, but I am also open to places in VA or TN. I know it's quite a drive, but being a healthcare provider, it's hard for me to find someone I like and trust, since I know my way around the human body somewhat and can read tests and know general lingo.

I feel so helpless and winey sometimes. Anyone have any referrals?

Hello jgamble0007 and welcome to MSWorld

PCOS (not confirmed, but suspected by OB- likely PCOS after CT confirmed large ruptured cyst),
You may want to find a GYN who is familiar with Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). A large ruptured cyst is not PCOS. PCOS is a syndrome. The cysts that are due to PCOS are small, do not get large, and are numerous.

PCOS begins in the early teen years or sometimes a little younger. PCOS is the most common cause of infertility.

Please read the 2 links below for a better understanding of PCOS

As far as MS. It is difficult to know what is causing your symptoms and seeing a Neurologist is a good idea. Many conditions can cause what you are experiencing and those will need to be ruled out.

Best wishes in your diagnostic process.

I am wondering way you think you may have MS. Has your Dr. suggested MS as a possibility?

Once I went almost completely blind for about 30 minutes, I could barely see to call for help.
This sounds like you may have had an ocular migraine.

      I'm sorry for you pain
Fortunately, MS would not cause this.

Bulging eye(s) is not related to MS. Have you had your Thyroid checked? Has your PCP done blood work to check for possible causes to your symptoms?

      Just some thoughts...
