When do you loose control ?

Hello, when do you know that you will loose control over moving your legs or arm? What were the symptoms? What did your arm or legs feel like?

Please respond. I have felt this way since Jan.

This may or may not be related. Since Jan. I had an emergency hysterectomy due to hemorrhage. They left me bleeding out in ER for 7 hours before the Gyn cam in to do the procedure. I lost over half the blood in my body. The surgery has left me with back pain.

From what I have read online it is probable there is lasting nerve damage which is untreatable.

I also have MS. Since Jan. I have lost at times the ability to move my toes on my good side. My weaker side has done that for years. At times when I go to stand, I can't move my leg or legs. It feels dead, like its not there. My husband has to pull me up to get me to stand.

My trunk is weaker too, making it hard to walk without wobbling. Instinctively I feel like I am loosing my ability to walk. My arms have also lost strength too. My left arm hangs at time like a limp rag.

The neurologist for MS said she would not address my lower back issues from the surgery. Told me to go to the GYN who in turn would tell me to go back to the neruo. . . The GP does not know what to do. I have bad doctors.

Since I saw the posting on a good neuro in Oregon, I am trying to get an appointment to see him.

I also am trying to get new MRI's of the head, neck, thoracic area, and the lower spine. The neuro says it doesn't matter what damage was done to the lower spine. I told her it feels swollen and hurts, that the worse it feels there the more the MS symptoms increase. As I was thought in nursing school any inflammation in the spinal cord can create havoc with being able to move. If the MS specialist won't deal with the lower back whom should I see?

When did you know that you probably wouldn't have much time left before you would have to rely on a wheelchair?

Get Thee to physical therapy ASAP!

The less you use your muscles the less you are able to use them. The P.T. will show you exercises you can do now and the right way to do them.
Keep at it and MAKE time. I cannot emphasize that enough.
I know it is boring but do it any way. You will feel much better.
I need to go do my afternoon exercises now.
