hey folks, I recently was walking around the wooded property here, and i picked up a ski pole that a friend had dropped off during the winter. I found it pretty helpful walking up and down my lumpy, hilly side yard, and in and out of the brush. It got me thinking that a trekking pole might not be a bad investment. I know I should probably be evaluated by an OT or PT, but in the meantime, is there anyone else using these trekking poles for minor stability issues?

I love my trekking poles! They were a good investment for me and have been using them for years. Back in the day when I was able to mt. climb they were invaluable. Now, I use them mainly for stability for walking up my packed gravel long driveway for my walks. Having 2 of them gives my arms the exercise that I need too. I have SPMS, so having something to use for stability is crucial!
Here's another thread with comments from others who use them: http://www.msworld.org/forum/showthr...trekking+poles
Good luck and hope you decide to give it a try.1st sx '89 Dx '99 w/RRMS - SP since 2010
