    weird dreams

a bit of an odd question, but can weird dreams be a symptom of MS? and not just the normal weird, i mean drug trip weird?

ive always had brizare dreams, just wondering if it could be a symptom. (i know anything can be a symptom, just wondering if anyone else can relate)

I don't know about it being an MS symptom, but I know that a number of medications can give weird dreams. For example, when I was on ropinirole, I had a week's worth of insane, drug-trip worthy dreams. They weren't nightmares, just bizarre.

If you're on any meds, you may want to check about if strange dreams are a reported side effect.

I can absolutely relate. I've been having horrific, vivid, maddening dreams for the longest time. This is just ONE of the reasons I can't sleep well, at all.

Might I add, though... I do not have a definite MS dx.

I am interested to see what other people say.

Great topic! I was thinking about asking this last night, actually. I'm glad you brought it up because I had already forgotten.

it's no meds, i know that much. i've been on a number of different ones, but my dreams are still weird. and they are not scary.

well, maybe the level of strangness to them are a bit frightening, but i look forward to the dreams. they are the best way to entertain my friends, lol.

          Hi JoJo

Me, too. I have vivid, disconnected dreams, right places, wrong people, right people, wrong places ... sometimes frustrating, sometimes physically exhausting, sometimes exhilarating.

No official dx yet, but have lesions and banding, so something is happening.

As my memory seems to be zapping out, I am finding I am more creative and my dreams have become really vivid and sometimes "psychic."

One example is that I was told that a high school friend had died at our last reunion two years ago. Then, I had a dream last month that I saw him at a casino. I contacted his sister and she said he was alive and living in Las Vegas. I had no idea consciously he had ever lived in Las Vegas...

              JoJo18,

I've had some bizarre dreams. I think my subconsciousness is trying to explain my myriad sensations. I don't like the ones that explain pain.

The strangest recurring one I get is that I can't touch the ground. I have had some bizarre adventures! I'm pretty sure this one has something to do with the numbness or tingling in my legs & feet. Although it's frustrating in my dream, I guess it shows I can be pretty creative!

I get vivid dreams when I am on certain medications. I like them! A lot! Once I went a whole week dreaming vividly that I was George Clooney's latest squeeze. His Italian Villa is absolutely beautiful. Grab some Neurontin and check it out for yourself!

Katie, that made me LOL .. literally! And jojo ...

I had to stop Lyrica because of the dreams I had. I had dreams that actually weren't dreams -- dreamed one night I had forgotten to take my blood pressure, and got up to take it. Next morning realized I actually HAD retaken it -- spent the day with a bp of 80/60 and a heart rate of 42. Yikes.
