    He Aches

My sweetie aches, he describes some of the pain as electrical shocks. I am so new to this and I am not sure what to do for him, what would make him feel better, or should I just leave him alone when he feels like this?

    Aches

I have Trileptal I take for neuro pains that feel like shocks and stings. Sometimes a rub like cool blue helps but I can't make it without my meds .

Its really hard when someone you love is in pain or in trouble and your helpless to do anything about it.

Your sweetie is the best person to tell you what you should do. Everybody is different in what they want. Some people want to be babied and some people want to be left alone. Have you just asked him?

With a chronic health condition in a family its really important to keep good communication. So instead of asking us to guess what he wants you should just ask him. Go right to the horse's mouth. Then what you should do depends on what he says he wants.

One thing you can maybe ask him about is if he thinks his neurologist is addressing his pain issues. If not that's a different issue. It means he might need to see a different neuro or a pain specialist. You might ask him if he would like your help in getting that done.

But no matter what you have to ask him.

        Hi Sandy!

Welcome and glad you joined us ..It is very sweet of you to try to find ways to help him. I'm assuming he has MS. I recommend you ask him what might help..maybe Ibuprofen? It works for me.

Bless you for trying to help, you're a very caring person.

There's a drug called lyrica for diabetic nerve pain. I had painful muscle spasm's and am taking baclofen for that.

Hi Sandy and welcome! Has he tried Neurontin (Gabapentin is the generic)? It's very thoughtful of you to ask here, hope something that one of us says will help. Please keep us informed and if you wish, tell us a bit about you and your sweetie.
