What's the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you, thanks to MS?

Mine is going to be unpleasantly bowel-related, where fortunately while driving alone, all control was lost. There was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Just sit there and keep my eyes on the road and my hands on the steering wheel.

Thank the Lord I was wearing a skirt and underpants, and nothing escaped. I got home, hobbled very squish-ily round to the laundry, stripped naked, and threw everything in the washing machine.

At which point I remembered I hadn't unlocked the house, so I had to sneak round to the front door, stand on the step and unlock the door in plain view of the passing traffic while stark naked.

Strangely enough I didn't attract a stalker after that little exhibition.

I had a shower for about an hour afterwards.

Happily this has only happened once, but it was certainly memorable. Top that!

I was in the supermarket when that happened to me. I raced to the wash room in the store and cleaned up the best I could and drove home with hand rinsed shorts. What a mess that was. Thank you MS.

OMG!!! I've had some pretty embarrassing MS related things happen (mostly involving eating, thinking it will keep me awake) but NOTHING comes close to yours.

I assume it's ok to laugh, thank you for sharing... what you must have looked like to the passing traffic... dear Lord, i won't forget this story too soon!

Thankfully I don't have any experiences like that, but my one really embarrassing thing has to be a time right before I stopped working (unfortunately my first clue something was wrong). I got up from a chair one day at work and my right leg just gave out on me. I tried grabbing the computer desk in front of me to keep me upright, but it was on wheels and just flew forward, leaving me to hit the ground. Of course, people were right by the door to the room I was in and a couple of them saw it happen. I then had to play stupid and act like I didn't know what happened because I certainly couldn't tell them the truth. They made me to go employee health in a wheelchair, even though I was not injured.

About a month or two after that incident, I was talking to a former coworker (who worked at the place I left about 6 months prior to this incident, but people in that environment gossip like crazy so everyone finds out when something happens) and she told me she heard I fell and hurt myself pretty badly. It makes me wonder if that's why they thought I left, but what really drives me crazy about it is don't go off and gossip about someone that you don't even know (I only worked there 3 weeks, nobody knew me) and when you don't know what really happened! I had a couple bruises from the impact, but that fall did not hurt me at all! If it did, I wouldn't have finished out that day and I wouldn't have been back the next day.

There was a parent/teacher student lead event at my daughters school.

When we got to the Art room; as I went to introduce myself to the teacher; I felt my face twist - cheeks cramped up, lips went completely limp and out my mouth came something like. . "hurmphe nioutty blubinnue". Shock washed over the teacher's face, parents nearby gawked too and my daughter stood starring in horror, I felt devastated.

Now we can make light of those episodes (its part of my package deal), but that first one was a real smacker.

Wow. Job - you made the story funny as always through the difficulties. Maybe the neighbor became a silent admirer after that.

All I wanted to add is something I learned with the kids, that's not immediately obvious - underpants can be discarded. For some reason, we think we have to clean them and carry them back home, but it's a lot easier to leave them somewhere and clean up as best we can. Sometimes they can even double as toilet paper.

I was in a bar (had 2 beers-I was on a diet so I did not drink more than 2). I got up to sing karaoke and in the middle of my song, my bladder decided it was full. I had to leave the "stage" with a very LARGE wet spot on my jeans. (everyone probably thought "dang she drank too much")

I was at a casino one night and dropped a glass of wine on myself. Needless to say, my friend and I left and he gave me a ride home. On the way home I thought I'd be sick and asked him to pull over.

I got out of the car, vomited, peed at the same time. I was bent forward to vomit and somehow managed to flip... right in a gully. I couldn't get back in a brand new car totally soiled and dirty so I removed my pants and kept only my wet undies on.

On this 1/2 hour drive home, my stomach started acting up so I told my friend to step on the gas, I was in a hurry. Of course I didn't make it. Diarrhea came out of me like it was a blessing. My friend was giving me heck for not holding back and wasn't watching his speed. The police were chasing us.

I told him to never mind the police and just hurry up, I felt another bout coming on. The police, sirens blazing and lights flashing followed us into the driveway.

Disheveled, grass stains on my face, wine stained pants at my feet, smelling horrid, and a car full of poop, the police came to the car and examined me with a flashlight. "Officer... do I really have to explain".

We were let off without a speeding ticket!
When I can laugh at my experiences, I own them and they don't own me!

OMG! These are so horribly funny! They make me feel so good. I've done a lot of silly stuff thanks to MS, but my most memorable to date is peeing myself on Space Mountain at Disney World.

It was pretty early in the day too so I got to "air dry" as hubby pushed me around for the rest of the day :-(

Although I I contributed an embarrassing story about myself, I am glad to do so as I think this thread has lightened the mood for one or two of you. Glad to be a part of it. Good luck to all

                      more then once

More then once I have lost total bladder control. Thankfully they have always been when I have been in the car. I have to walk into the house with two young boys with wet pants.

We too have turned it into a fun moment now.
God Bless and have a good day, Mary

CaroleL, so far, you win! That sounds like the not-so-perfect storm. Ewwughhh.

For all those "air dryers" out there, Febreeze is your friend.

You're definitely right about underpants doubling as toilet paper, BigA.

One time years ago I yelled at my kids (for misbehaving) so much so that I peed in my pants in front of them. And believe me, it wasn't just a dribble! - they started laughing and called me "tinkle-tinkle" in their cute little voices. It was hard to stay mad at them.

Most of my embarassing stories involve falling in public.

I did poo myself a little once. Luckily I was at home ad able to blame wine.

My bowels decided to work overtime during a doctor's appointment. I had an accident, so I was in the bathroom for a half an hour. I had forgotten my extra underpants.

Well, he figured out that I was telling the truth, finally!

On Easter Sunday, I spilled wine all over the newly cut ham.
everyone took it in stride, except me and my husband.
He knew why it happened. We have been in denial, and still are, since I am still in Limbo.
