    I'm not drunk...wait

    Hi everyone,

I'm Katie, 30 year old Aussie diagnosed with MS about 6months ago.

I have just started to blog about my journey, sharing all the ups and downs, the pleasant and unpleasant with hopefully a lot of laughs along the way.

Would love you to join me

      hello

      Hi Kate, aussie girl.

I love the accent you have!! I'm in the same boat, New Yorker, 31, Dx in Dec 2011.

My story is crazy, not like anyone's out there. If you feel like it's been bad, think of losing your marriage, getting a Graduate degree shortly after your diagnosis, and being told you may be disabled in the future.

It's too hard to bear, but we aren't challenged by something we cannot face. Being diagnosed, losing a marriage, and learning I may never get the career I wanted is too much to handle. How could someone live life normally after given this kind of info?

I disagree with people that say to just think positively. If you are trying to pick someone up, put yourself in their shoes. Do something to help someone, not just try to fill in words to help. Don't try to fill us up with subconscious, positive thoughts, as they do little to help.

Am I making sense here? I wish someone could educate the people in our lives that need to be educated on how to help and deal with someone that is faced with this adversity.
