    Symptom Question

For those of you who don't already know this, I am new to the board and have not been diagnosed with anything (Neg CT scan, waiting to see neurologist). MS is on my short list of possibilities.
With that being said, I have another question. I have been experiencing something odd and I wonder if it's something people with MS get, or not. It's hard to explain so here goes:
The first time I had this, I was pregnant, years ago. It went away and has come back a little here and there, but never really came back full fledge until now. It's been happening along with a list of other issues suddenly. What it is, is when I take a deep breath, and I exhale, I can feel a quick "pins and needles" feeling in both my feet, during the exhale. It's like a zing of "dots" in my feet. I know that sounds crazy but I don't know how else to describe it. I have no idea if this is related to everything else I have going on, or something totally separate. I considered googling it, but have no idea how to search for that.
Anyway, anyone have any experience with this?

    Hello!
First off, a CT is not a test used to definitively Dx MS. Perhaps you meant MRI??

As for strange symptoms...I involuntarily chuckled. ANYTHING is possible with MS.

But anything involving nerve related symptoms point to a neurologic process in all likelihood...of course, not necessarily MS.

Keep the faith AND keep after the doctors!!!!

I quit "trying" for quite a few years because they suggested I needed a Psychologist! !! As it was "all in my head"! That was the only thing the doc's got right! My brain was Swiss cheese!!

It was a fellow RN who suspected MS! (That was after MANY visits/tests by doctors who said I was too young for anything wrong with me!)

    Good luck

Puellapea, I experience this as well. It only started a few weeks ago. It always takes me by surprise -- I can't voluntarily trigger the feeling; it seems to only happen when I least expect it! To me it's a strange, shiver-like sensation down both shins and into my feet, almost like stockings being pulled off.

I should note, in case it is useful to you, that I am pretty convinced that I do not have MS. I have some very MS-like symptoms, so there is something going on, but they just don't seem to add up to MS. I'm getting an MRI this Tuesday, but I'm very hopeful (and almost positive) that it will be clear, or at least, not MS.

      Good luck to you!

Do yourself a favor and stop asking if this or that sys is MS. You'll drive yourself crazy before you see the Nuero.

MS can mimic so many other conditions that it can make your head spin.

Do be persist for a dx though. There are a number of definitive tests for MS (MRI being the most common one).

That said my MS dx was pretty quick. I developed Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) and my MRI showed lesions typical of MS. It was a no brainer for the doctors.

I'm sure I had MS for years but chalked up the dizzy spells and falling over my feet as just being a klutz.

However, based on the posts in this forum, a MS dx may not be as clear cut.

In the end, it's important to know what it isn't as well as what it is.

P.S. If you haven't done so already, you may want to read up on the type of tests that helps to dx MS besides the variety of sys for MS.

It took me about 3 years of asking my neuro,,, "is this being caused by my M.S."? Then you get a shoulder shrug.

I call it the neurologist "shoulder shrug" I think there are limitless symptoms that M.S. can cause.

Basicly the same thing. I don't know weather it's MS or what. MS is so different and yet so the same for everyone. They can't answer all the ?s this disease is a mystery. My neuro an MS specialist also does the "shoulder shrug" we so need answers, but they don't have them all.

Don't give up tho it took years for the docs. to finally give me a dx of MS. I knew what was causing all the sx now I wanted to know why.

I take my dmd meds and all the rest and hope for the best.

Good luck to you and hopefully you DON'T HAVE MS.
