    Heat, fatigue.... frustration!

Is this heat just absolutely destroying you? I can't go outside for a few minutes without being just worn out. The sun actually hurts my skin at times.

And just little things like brushing my teeth wear me out. Actually makes my heart rate go up and just makes me feel uncomfortable.

Things I used to love to do are a distant memory now.

I never really loved the heat, but I did love summer. I live in Baltimore so I would go down to the harbor and feel cool breezes off the water. I can do it at night now, or dusk, but nothing beat that cool breeze when the sun is beaning on you. Plus there are a lot of festivals here in the summer months...a carribean fest that I absolutely loved, Artscape.

I also never, and I mean never, turned my air conditioning on until it was 95 degrees outside. My gas and electric bill was cheap as heck for like three months in a row! It was like a battle of wills between myself and BGE. Now my thermostat can't go over 80, or I'm sapped. I really had a hard time letting that one go, silly as I'm sure it sounds. Look like I lost my war the BGE.

I am totally with you on this one! I SO want to go to the beach, an outdoor concert...walk around at a fair. But, I can't. I actually had to ask for a couple of days off of work to rest.

I'm so glad that you posted. My heart races when I'm standing, and I am so beat up by this heat. My muscles are stiff and feel weak. I just want to sit.

If I do too much I start having trouble walking and if it is hot I can do even less. So my ac goes on when my house hits the upper 70's......otherwise I can do nothing but sit. Even with the ac on my body knows when it is ridiculously hot and humid outside and reacts accordingly I hate summer!! around 2-3:00 my body gets fatigued no matter what and seems to get better around 7:00.....I want my old body/life back!!

Same for me. I used to love summer, but the high temps and humidity in NJ is just too much. I'm exhausted, dizzy, and my RLS has been acting up. I'm really getting down in the dumps. Getting in a hot car is enough to do me in. I took today off so I could rest and not have to go out in the heat to go to work.

A little contradiction... I can't stand to be in an over cold room with a/c. I'm constantly adjusting the temp. Makes everyone mad. This could be because I am hypo thyroid after having ablation to kill my thyroid.

                The heat just destroys me!

We have a very mild summer so far for Texas, but even being outside for 5 minutes I start to feel the effects.

I can remember not worrying about being outside in the heat, but now me and the heat do not mix.

I keep wondering how I would do further north and how the cold would effect me, but the winter and spring here are wonderful!

The heat in the north is dibilitating, too. This long stream of days with endless humidity is worse as it has ever been for me. I feel as though I've had a major progression and had to stop a lot of everyday activities. I can't even hold my upper body up anymore. I wonder if anthing will improve when the heat breaks.

I live in a D.C. suburb the heat is AWFUL!!.I never go outside, except from AC house to AC car.
Heat is the one thing that can send me into an exerbation, I have SPMS & DONOT want a flair.
I am very blessed as we have a huge sunroom off the back of our house & I can go sit there watch my G'kids swim, watch the birds, watch our dogs run on our 1& 1/2 acres.
                    Keep cool.

                      ditto

During times like these I am tempted to nearly panic and wonder / worry "is this how I am going to be for the rest of my life? Will it get better??" This has been a milder summer than the last two but it's still a real trial. I appreciate the quote in the signature line above: "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude". Reminds me of what I have hanging in my kitchen: YOU have control of YOUR attitude. Negativity only makes things harder!

A friend bought me a window a/c last year and I am SO THANKFUL. I would rails to have fresh air ... but I need the a/c to function.

Not officially diagnosed due to non-MS-specific spots on MRIs, but the neurologists all agree it's MS.
Frustrated. January 2019: finally saw an MS specialist worth seeing. Maybe we'll get to the bottom of this.
