    Ampyra and heart burn?

Anyone who takes Ampyra get heart burn? I've been on the med since mid-September 2014 and seem to link my heart burn to maybe Ampyra. I have no other side effects (but I also haven't really seem any remarkable improvement in my stamina) - so I may discontinue taking it.

Hi jlk9498 - I have read somewhere that heartburn can be a side effect for about 2% of the population taking this, so maybe you fall into that catagory.

Here is some info from MedlinePlus which lists it as a possible side effect. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/d...s/a611005.html

I tried Ampyra for about 8 months and really hoped it would help me. I was among the unlucky percentage of people who saw no improvement, so I stopped.

I would call your prescribing Dr and let them know about your heartburn and work with them, as there are meds that can control it. Some people taking Ampyra see improvement right away, others takes many weeks, but these may vary according to each person.

Hope you can get a handle on that heartburn. No fun
