I don't think Neurontin helps with the tingling, I had it for the horrible bone-itch.
initially my balance was so bad the doc wouldn't let me off the bed without two people assisting. Your centre of gravity seems to be put off sumwhere. Very very weird, like you are standing on some chalk riddles with big holes. I think it is because I don't have evenly distribution senses on my feed anymore...

Now I have changed to Pregabalin/Lyrica, not much difference yet. The neurologist said it has less side effects than Neurontin.
Tom's medication :- Off Amitriptyline, on Chlorpheniramine Maleate (Antihistamine), Neurontin
Off Rebif Interferon Beta-1a 44mcg now, waiting for NMO blood test results

Just tonight I told hubby, that I wonder if there is such a thing as a Foot Massager Box?! Something you can put your feet in and turn it on and it would stimulate the bottoms of your feet.

Wouldn't that be great? He told me to search the internet under foot massager and see what if anything comes up. I do have one of those hand held ones that I do use on my legs and top of my feet, but hard to do the bottoms.

If I find anything promising I'll let you know. --BTW, Hubbies foot rubs feel GREAT, but he can't stay home from work to do that all day long! (why the heck not?) he-he. Are the bottoms of your feet really sensitive too? Mine are, and I leave my socks on for the foot rubs, or I think the man in the moon would hear me hollar!
cathy, i just got a catalog from sportsmans guide, and inside, ready, they have a foot and calf massager!!!! i have no idea if it works but if i don`t forget, i`m gonna call and get details. you put your feet inside "booties" and wrap your legs in "air casts" and let forced air massage your sore muscles.

I saw my neuro last week and told him about this problem. He said it is the result of the lesion on my spine.

I know that since starting on Ampyra my weak leg has gotten stronger, but these weirdo feelings continue. Makes it hard to stand sometimes without hanging on to something.

I do have periods that it gets better, but not that often. Stretching the legs seems to help for awhile and sometimes I put ice packs on the floor and put my feet on them. Feels like I got a "foot transplant" it feels so good! I also use one of those hand held massagers on my feet and legs.

Anyone have this problem? And what if anything helps?
[FONT="Comic Sans MS"]cathy, this is what they are "[Air Compression Leg Massager". i just typed in www.sportsguide.com and looked around. there`s a video you can watch. i can tell you that i`ve done the "air massage" thing before and it feels GREAT!!!!! the decision is all yours, keep us posted.

Why didn't I think of it sooner!!?? It's right in this room in the closet -jeez- am I brain dead or what?!

I have used it in the past but not for a few months. So this morning I used it for about 15 minutes and boy do my feet feel RE-ENERGIZED!! I just put a small amount of water in so it's not too heavy when I go to empty it.

It has different knob attachments to use that rotate when you put your feet on them. Had to grab my pant leg to lift the foot on it, but I did it ok. I think I'll start using this 2 or 3 times a day from now on. Hey-- I'll have the cleanest feet around if nothing else!!

Wonderful Kathy. Hope it really helps. Now I will have to get myself one. One more thing that I will need to find room to store out of the way when not in use LOL

Kathy, how about having your DH fill it for you, or using your tea kettle so you can while it is on the floor, that way you can use more water.

            Thanks for all the replies!!

BarkingDogs- I have blood tests every 3 months, and blood sugar is always good-- not even close to borderline for diabetes (whew!)

Dave- thanks for the info on the foot and calf massager- sounds pretty neat! Hubby gets the Sportsmans Guide all the time too- (spend WWAAYY too much money!)

JoanFrances- if hubby is ever home when I'm ready to use the massager I will certainly have him fill it with water. He works 12 hour days and goes bed early as he gets up at 3:30A.M. Sometimes I could actually wake him up when I'm just going to bed!!(he-he) I'm a night owl--as my leg gets stronger late at night and then I'm having too much fun, so I don't want to give up!! After supper we are on our computers and watching TV and then I forget all about the foot spa. Good idea though!
