anyone out there currently taking Zonisamide for headaches? does it work? I am always reluctant to start a new med, and am looking for honest feedback on what to expect.

I have been using Zonegran for many years for intractable migraines. It did take the edge off my headache but then, my headaches are very difficult to treat. I have yet to find a medication that eradicates them. I am happy when the treatment allows me to lead my every day life.
I liked the fact that there were few side effects for me other than sleepiness and weight loss. Both were welcome side effects, for me. LOL. I have trouble sleeping anyhow and I would take the medication 1 hour before bed.
We use this medication in children with bad seizures or headaches and they see to tolerate it very well, too. Follow the titration orders and hopefully you will tolerate it well. Good luck.
