    PML risk and CD26L assay

    Hi all

Does anyone know of any patient who got this test done?
It is offered in Europe but is not in routine use yet.

Low levels on CD4+ lymphocytes are seen in (JCV+ve) patients who go on to get PML.

        memaw,

once JC positive, the index, also referred to as titer level, as well as number of infusions becomes important.

the higher the index level, the more risk. likewise, as the number of infusions increase, risk does

there are other threads that detail the statistics. you should also ask your neuro about it and see if more frequent blood tests and/ or MRIs are warranted.

I just had this test done. The Mayo Clinic is doing the test.
My numbers are not below 21.6 that the researchers used.
          I am staying on Tysabri.

With my titer numbers my risk is about 1:100. Low CD 4 levels can bring that risk up to 1 in 10 developing PML.
