Weightloss Checkin Group: Weighin for 5/24/12
Hi Everyone. Here we are almost at Memorial Day. Time, time, time where does it go? May we all remember our lost loved ones on this important holiday. I must say I am extremely impressed by the support and encouragement given to fellow members of our group. I am sure new members are most grateful. It is easy to become discouraged on this journey and words of wisdom by those who have been there are invaluable. I seem to have gained half a pound and now weigh 113.5. This is O.K. because it is near my goal range of 113 to 115.
Agate, so sorry to miss you this week. I hope everything is going O.K. Poohbar, good for you for staying the same. Thank you for your advice about online shopping. I will check measurements as you recommended. Keep up the good work.. Sparky, are you away and did I forget. I’m sorry to see you gone again this week. Mamabug, congratulations. That is an impressive weight loss and loss in waist measurement is the icing on the cake. Thank you for the encouragement for buying new clothes. That would definitely be a mood lifter. Have a good week. Hunterd, it’s good to see you back this week. Your measurements pretty well balance themselves out so I am putting you down for staying the same. Good luck this week. Audima, congratulations! I knew you could do it. Thank you for adding words of encouragement to others. I bet you look stunning in your new jeans. Keep up the momentum so as to maintain. Shashi, good job. That is great that you lost. I just know that you can get to 199 soon. That will be fun to buy new clothes and even more fun when those clothes become too big. It will happen. Keep the faith. Dosoyaka, yours is a problem many of us can only dream about. Seriously, I know it can be as hard to gain as it is to lose. Have you checked with your doctor to be sure there isn’t some problem responsible for the weight loss? That is important. I did lose more than I intended and checked with my doctor who found nothing wrong. I just added a few more calories and then stabilized. Good luck to you. For those who may have an interest in joining our dedicated group, our members each have their own personal methods of weight loss. Some are on Weight Watchers, some on Atkins for example and some just cut calories. I personally lost quite a lot of weight in the beginning using Atkins and then just cut portions while eating everything. The method is not the most important thing, it is staying focused and following the plan. We post weight loss, gain, stayed the same, from Thursday to Thursday and have been doing so for over eight years. We are truly dedicated to get rid of those pesky pounds and keep them off. You don’t have to state your actual weight. It’s a matter of choice. Tip for the Week: Sleep might not feel like it adds much to your diet and exercise strategy, but studies show that proper sleeping habits are essential for maintaining a healthy weight. Although it’s not totally clear why a lack of sleep can cause weight gain, one recent study found that sleep-deprived people eat more — about 550 calories more — throughout the day than those who are well-rested. If you’re trying to sleep yourself slim, aim for seven to nine hours of quality ZZZs every night.. Weight loss Results for 5/17/12: Total Loss: 5.3 pounds by four members. Outstanding. Losing is its own reward. Every pound lost adds further incentive to reach goal weight. Hey, everybody, keep those pounds coming off. Total Gain: 0 pounds by no members. I hope noone is avoiding admitting the painful truth.. Putting a gain down in black and white helps one to stay aware and to change the future. Good luck. Stayed the same: 2 members. As we know, staying the same truly is success, especially for those who are maintaining. Just keep remembering it is the time before the next loss if you have more to lose. Since there were so many losses last week it is not surprising that several people stayed the same. 3305.4 is the total weight loss for the past 9 plus years. Now that we have hit 1.5 tons we are on our way to losing two tons. |

I've lost the same three pounds three times. Does that count as 9 pounds? LOL!!
I'm still at 207. But I'm not giving up. I think I just need to exercise in the pool more and maybe cut back a bit on what I'm eating. I can do this! (I have no choice!)

Shasi -- It probably does count as 9 pounds, if you also post when you gain them back.
