Half my mouth was numb
Thats what sent me to the doc and started my diagnosis process.
It was in 2009, I was 48. In some respects, it was a relief because I'd been noticing some cognitive issues. The numbness, tingling, etc I'd had for a few years I blamed on injuries from a car wreck. I had the neuropsych testing done. It confirmed what I already knew, I can't do my former work. Most days I've come to terms with the new me. I have more to spend with my grandchildren.  SSDI had denied me twice, they want me to take a less demanding job. I also have DDD which makes physical work out of the question. Life savings near depletion.  But it could always be worse.

I think we are very lucky to live in this area - NOVA/MD ... to have access to such great doctors and facilities. I think about retirement to my home town in Florida and think about having to find a new neuro and gives me the hives.
** tonight .. they are supposed to shut down I66 West completely (overnight) so ... me and many thousands of others will be hitting the side streets to make our way home. If they ever get the construction done around here .. it will be time to start over and begin again!!!
