Do you get extra for SSDI if you have kids?

I'm wondering if a person gets extra for SSDI if they have kids.

Also, does it help when applying to contact a congressman? Do they have any "pull" with social security? I have been told repeatedly to email or call a congressman and they will have a rep from their office "push your claim through".

Any info would be appreciated.
