Cloves?

I’ve been looking into the adrenal gland function and ways to reduce stress. I came across a product from Enzymatic Therapy that contained ground clove as a principal ingredient. I was curious and when looking into cloves as a supplement I came across this on Wikipedia:

“Cloves may be used internally as a tea and topically as an oil for hypotonic muscles, including for multiple sclerosis.[citation needed] This is also found in Tibetan medicine.[7] Some recommend avoiding more than occasional use of cloves internally in the presence of pitta inflammation such as is found in acute flares of autoimmune diseases”

I’m wondering what do you all know about cloves?

I don't know much about the medicinal use of cloves, but I do know that Chinese/Tibetan traditional healing practices are complex and powerful...best undertaken with the guidance of an experienced practitioner.

As for safety, there can be some worrisome possible side effects.

Actually, cloves in high doses can cause vomiting, seizures, kidney damage and problems with breathing. It is especially dangerous for young children or the elderly. Anyone with kidney or liver disorders or who have had seizures should not take cloves or clove oil. Just because something is 'naturally occurring' doesn't mean it's completely safe. (WikiAnswers)

Topical use isn't necessarily safe either, because substances applied to the skin migrate into the body.

I get the sore muscle feeling past mid day and it is relieved by laying down for 10-minutes (per Tara's suggestion about adrenal gland function).

The problem is that it is difficult (especially at work) to lay down. So, I am looking at the cloves as a possible solution.

I use cloves to kill 'flukes' -little parasites that can get in many organs. Very hard to eliminate flukes.

I don't have experience w cloves for adrenals.

Cloves discussion...

Tara: 1. How does one know if they have "flukes"?
2. In what 'form' should one use cloves? (oil, whole, ground? or another type?
3. How much...how often?

Thanks
