Suprapubic catheter and leaking?

Hi,
I've had an SP for about 5 months and just recently have had urine leaking vaginally. The leakage is minimal and seems only to happen when I drink a lot of water quickly. Is it something I should be concerned about?

Hi Laurakim,

Sorry for your problem.

You definitely need to see your urologist, gynecologist or a urogynecologist.

You may have developed a fistula between your bladder and vaginal wall...it can cause those symptoms. I don't know how the SP catheter would fit into that picture, but it definitely needs to be investigated.

I phoned uro, told we'll change cath, irrigate, see if that helps, investigate further if necessary. Thx Laurakim
