Good morning, I am becoming increasingly anxious about the Tea Party movement and their position on Glbt people. It is very disturbing to listen to all the hateful comments. It seems all the progress made in establishing our rights and acceptance is in jeprody. Thoughts?

Is the tea party just a new name for the old moral majority?
They seem to run on the same fears. They dont want politicians or citizens to solve the real problems, But want to control human rights in the US.

I just can't believe the Republicans are so narrow minded and blocked the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell after all the positive testimony by the veterans and people who have served.
A private company couldn't get away with discrimination against LGBT people, why can the Government.

Another issue is the Republican's new manifesto that condemns gay marriage and pretty much all LGBTQ people.
Why are they so hateful? Who made them that way?

No one made the republicans the way they are, but their fear of losing their hold on society. Notice the tea party is primarily white, heterosexual, and anglo-saxon. Where are minority groups, African Americans, Latinos, Jews, Muslims...hmmm how interesting they are visibly missing when the camera's pan the crowd.

Just take comfort in knowing that this is the last great attempt of the "moral majority" who are quickly becoming the minority.

Whites actually became minorities in this country, this summer. I believe the white, anglo, heterosexual, (majority male) are frightened. I am ashamed to be a US citizen lately. The governments actions are not what our country was intended to become. "MELTING POT". Meaning all ethnicity, religions welcome. Well, why not incorporate Gays (using that term as all-encompassing) along with all others?
It truly and simply boils down to the decision on who we LOVE.

We wonder why gay teens are committing suicide...God BLESS Ellen Degeneres for stepping up and pointing out, what our own government has been sweeping under the rug for decades.

My prayers are with those who seek to be understood.

Thanks for that. It has been a troubling time for the gay youth and the political environment isn't helping but as you say, Yes it does get better.
