I also have this problem. One thing has helped a little bit. I keep a low watt(4watt) light light in my bathroom. When I get up in the middle of the night I do not turn the light on. That night light is enough light to see what I'm doing but not enough to wake me up.
It was lecture from a sleep specialist at UC San Diego that I learned about this. She said that it is the light that wakes us up completely and we can't go back to sleep. However there are so many things with MS that can keep us awake. Restless leg syndrome, spasticity, muscle cramping and pain to name a few.
Taking a low dose on benzodiapines can help, too. Getting sleep is so so important and so is relieving our bladder.
Hope your doctor can help, too.
