Need help are these Ms symptoms

Does this sound like Ms symptoms?

So for at least the past 5 months I have had a list of different symptoms on and off. First thing I really noticed was fatigue and lightheadedness at times. Then I was having tingling and numbness in my arms and fingers and I am seeing stars like when you get up to fast but not doing anything most times. Now I have also been having numbness in my feet and toes And burning like tingling in my face and feet. There is other stuff too but those are the major ones. Any ideas. Thanks so much!

Hi jessi2121. I do think those symptoms can be MS related. But they could be related to other problems, also ! I am not a doctor and you will not get a diagnosis from anyone on this board . You need to consult a real, 'live' doctor and do a bunch of blood labs, tests, etc. Good luck. By the way.. where are you in the U.S. ? It's a big place !

Hi Jessi these are symptoms of MS but they are also symptoms of many other diseases that a why it is so hard to DX MS you need to see a neurologist and have some tests done to find. How long do your symptoms last ? Craig

        Hello jessi2121,

Your symptoms could be from MS or numerous other causes. The best thing you can do is see your Dr. and explain what you are experiencing. Testing is the only way to know what is causing your symptoms.

        Take care!

          Hi jessi and welcome!!

Like others have stated these are some symptoms of MS, but are also common with other conditions. You might like to read what the National MS Society (NMSS) has to say about diagnosing the disease..http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Sym.../Diagnosing-MS

You will also want to read this from NMSS which talks about other "mimics of MS" that will need to be ruled out! http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Sym...ns-to-Rule-Out

I sure hope you don't have MS. I highly recommend reading up a bit on MS (but not "Dr. Google") and if your symptoms continue or become worse, make an appt with your pcp for starters, and a neurologist.

          Take care!

            Hi jessi:

I'm going to say the same thing everyone else has said, just a little differently.

You're having neurological symptoms, which are the same for many, many conditions regardless of which one. Because MS is a neurological condition, it has some of the same symptoms as do many, many other conditions. And because MS is a neurological condition, it's possible that your symptoms might be due to MS, the same as they might be due to one of those other conditions that have neurological symptoms.

One of the way to tell the difference among all of those conditions is how those symptoms present themselves. While MS can have the symptom of burning or the symptom of tingling, the burning and tingling that are common in earlyMS do not typically show up all over the body at roughly the same time in episodes that come and go.

Symptoms in MS are associated with inflammation (or sometimes degeneration) in specific nerve circuits. The symptoms occur only along the affected nerve circuits, and not all over the body. In early MS, those areas of inflammation don't occur all over the body at the same time. One or two or three areas at the same time maybe, but not all over the body. Those circuits serve only one side of the body, making symmetric symptoms on both sides of the body unlikely. And in early MS, the symptoms last for days to weeks to months; they don't come and go.

For you to be having numbness and tingling in both arms and both legs and your face (especially both sides) and seeing "stars" at the same time (or even in short-term rolling rotation) would require several concurrent lesions spread out over the central nervous system, which isn't characteristic of early MS.

That kind of presentation of symptoms is more common with other causes that aren't limited by nerve circuits and can "travel" all over the body and come and go as certain internal conditions change (and some of those conditions can change fairly quickly).

It's possible that your symptoms might be caused by MS, it's just not as likely as the cause being something else for which the symptoms more typically act the way your symptoms are acting. And I have to say what everyone else has said: the only way to know what's causing your symptoms is to see your primary doctor, a neurologist, and possibly other specialists and have extensive testing to differentiate a cause.

              Ms related or not?

My first neuro told me I was basically making things up. Needless to say I never saw him again. But I did have a lumbar puncture to test the fluid. Results were MS related. (high protein). Went to another neuro after that and he was nice. He told me he couldn't say it was or wasn't MS. Ended up having Optical neuritis. That's when he said I had MS. I lost the vision in my left eye. He put me on steroids which restored my sight.
Everyone is different and symptoms are different. Some stay and some are Intermittent. RRMS.
Absolutely check with a Neorologist. Get one that is recommended. If your not satisfied, find another. Remember your rights as a patient and exercise them. Insist on tests and whatever else you need.
I am not a doctor, I am just letting you know what happened to me.
              Good luck

If you are worried, and you are or you wouldn't be searching, please go to a doctor.

I put if off for a couple of years. The official diagnosis (except for drugs)makes no difference - you either have it or you don't.

You know that feeling, when as much as you don't want to, you know you are feeling so sick, you have to go and see someone who can do something to help. Dentists - don't like going, but needs must.

                Good luck.
