Has anyone ever been told that they see atrophy or grey matter lesions? How can they tell? What tests are run?
I am asking as I am working with new neurologist and new neuropsychiatrist. My cognitive issues really don't tie to my white matter lesions and one problem would be considered atypical of MS (long term memory). But this problem, along with visual spatial and processing speed which are typical of MS, can be related to the hippocampus.
I plan on asking neuro at next appointment, maybe even see if any trials could fit. But I know even T3 MRI machines don't get a good picture of grey matter, especially when part of deep subcortical layer, like the hippocampus.
If anyone has insight, I would appreciate it. I'd like to do research before neuro appointment so I am prepared.
Thanks.
