    Nonprogressive Relapsing MS

I was dx with RRMS in 2005 and have only had a handful of relapses since then. My last relapse was in May 2011. I've been off meds for almost a year as trying to conceive so I had a MRI and check up with my neurologist Wednesday. He didn't say much but I now noticed he changed my dx to Nonprogressive Relapsing MS. I have never heard of this type, I'm assuming it's good but as its not something I've heard off not sure.

Anyone here heard of this type? What does it mean?

    Thanks in advance.

Is your physician a MS specialist? I haven't ever heard of this and would be highly suspect of a prediction of progression only 10 years after diagnosis.

People can do well for 20 years with RRMS and then suddenly suffer from major disability making predictions of future disability or progression little more than speculation, imo.

      Hi MeliaAna,

I have never heard of that term before, but perhaps your neuro meant that you have more of a benign course, although that term is confusing and controversial, according to this from the NMSS- http://www.nationalmssociety.org/For...isease-Courses

Perhaps when you have another appt., you can ask what this means for you.
And good luck trying to conceive!

As they say, it's only benign until it's not.
