    JUST FOR ONE DAY!!

I would like to switch places with those who say suck it up you'll be fine. You probably stayed up to late. We've all heard it.

Today would be the day I would choose to switch places with one particular person. Then they would have a better understanding of what it's like to live with this horrible disease. Then the first thing I would say is "Suck it up, you'll be ok." Yeah if only it were that easy.

when I hea "suck it up" I often tell whomever said it that I have another wheelchair at home and I would welcome the opportunity if they would use it just for one day to see how difficult things are. I also tell them that they may not walk at all (I cannot either). When I reminded them of things like going to the bathroom they quickly change their mind!

I really understand. The problem for me is that no one else around me does. They have no idea what a living hell my life is some days. Or that even on the good days I feel sick and dizzy. I know they CAN'T know but I would like for them to be in my place for just an hour. Not even a whole day! Then I think I would get the understanding I need. I don't want pity. I want understanding.

I think that goes back to the old saying that says 'walk a mile in my shoes' ! But that just doesn't happen ! And you wouldn't wish that on your worst enemy ! I know that I wouldn't ! I wonder how all of the neurologists feel about their inability to fix this MeSS ? Does anyone ever think of that situation?
