In August I filed a form for an appeal that I am currently receiving VA Disability for. As it turns out the VA changed the form unbeknownst to me and the gentleman that was helping me file the paperwork. So the VA converted the appeal to a claim.
So my question is, the VA is paying me disability for what they deemed was a sprained ankle at a rate of 10%. The new appeal/claim has documentation showing it is far more than a sprained ankle and I will need a bone fusion in the near future. The letter from the Ankle Specialist states the condition of my ankle is very painful and causing extreme difficulty walking. I also included the radiologist report from the MRI of my ankle that pretty much says my ankle is destroyed. So needless to say it is not a simple sprain. Has anyone had the VA reverse their initial decision on a claim and pay at a higher percentage based on additional documentation they didn't have initially? Can you say NERVOUS?!!!!!
A decision has been made and I should receive a letter within 10 days.
