    Going outside Canada for MRI

I am just wondering if any other Canadians on this thread have crossed the border to get a higher-field (i.e., 3T rather than 1.5T) MRI? In Ontario, the only 3T machines are for research.

I have been looking into it, and am interested to hear about others' experiences with this.

Do you have a particular reason for wanting a 3T MRI? 3T shows finer detail, but small lesions can still be missed (and waste your money)...

I get 2T MRI's... I wonder how different they are from the 3T??

My MRIs are done at St. Mike's in Toronto. They've been done on 3T machines since at least January 2014. These are just my regular MRIs, not research related.

The pictures certainly look sharper, but they didn't reveal any more lesions than the 1.5T machines did.
