On a lighter note, our dog seems less depressed. He is missing all the inadvertent treats he received from Dad's seat. There were always crumbs when he stood and of course, the dropped food. After each meal, he still hovers around there, only to walk away disappointed no extra treats! We think he may have lost a pound or two!

Peace and deep thanks to you Kathy for sharing your story with us. As a hospice Chaplain I can absolutely confirm the confusion and stress families experience when there haven't been discussions about end-of-life (and beginning of a new) care.

Please, please, please take the time and give thought to your own wishes and encourage those you love to do the same.

A great resource for this is a 10 page pamphlet called "The Five Wishes". You can google and download, fill it out at your leisure. It is a legal document in many states. At there very least it will give your family knowledge of your desires in very specific terms.
