    Emory University in Atlanta Georgia?

I found a pain dr for my back near Atlanta Georgia which unfortunately is 4 hour drive one way. But he seems good so far.

Now my Question is he wants to send me to Emory university to their neuro department. they have MS doctors according to their website. HAs anyone dealt with them? Are they any good? I really don't want to go to another Neurologist but if they are good I will try one last time.

Ive heard they are a really good hospital and university but I have no idea how the DRs are. According to their website they also have a diagnosis team so they should either confirm the MS or find out what is wrong which would be awesome.

Thank you so much for any info you can give me Bug

I haven't been there personally, but it's about a 4-hour drive from me, so I'll be interested in any other responses! Here is the US News and World Report rating on their neurology department, in case that helps:

I also live 4 hours away. The only pain dr I could find with a good office staff and dr was in tucker Georgia above atlanta. I live near Bainbridge Georgia, the SW corner. The drs near here I have had absolutely no luck with. They lose my records or want me to buy a 200 dollar cash back brace. and when I wont they wont give me anything. If I go to emory ill let ya know how they are. Bug

I see Dr. William Tyor through the Atlanta VA, but he is also an Emory physician/professor and a MS specialist. I am very happy with him - kind, compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him.

I see Dr. Lava at Emory and I love him. He actually comes to the waiting area to get you and he's patient and thorough. I'm about an hour away. Where do you all live? I have been with him for years and I see him every months. You also have web access to your records.
I am a phenomenal woman; and still I rise.

I go to the Shepherd MS Institute. Atlanta is about a 4 hour drive for me as well. I like their Drs there. The only problem I have with them is that I waited to see Dr Thrower. Waited fourmonths and then they pur me seeing Dr Lorring. She is a good Dr but I was not happy when I waited for one Dr and then was told that if I wanted to see him I would have to wait a few months. I waited four months to see him.

Right now im seeing a dr in the VA its only 150 miles from me instead of 250 that emory is. Im glad you have a really good dr. The one im seeing seems to be really good. But ive only seen him once so we shall see.

It has become absurd how people have to drive hours to see a decent pain doctor.
