CSF high levels of protein and WBC?

    [COLOR=#323D4F][FONT=Lucida Grande]Hello all,

I recently received a detailed look into my CSF analysis from December and there are two things that I am questioning.

I am going to post up my whole report but what caught my eye were my levels of WBC and protein.

I must note at the time of my LP i was having speech problems followed by bowel dysfunction which my now neurologist has said was a relapse.

    Lets hope right into it..

    CSF Total Volume 9.5ml
    CSF Appearance Clear
    CSF Colour Colourless
    CSF Suoernat Colourless
    CSF WBCs 28
    CSF RBC 1
    CSF Lymphs 0.98
    CF Other Cells 0.02

    CSF Glucose 3.2 mmol
    CSF Protein 0.90 g/l
    CSF Albumin 0.52 g/l
    CFS IGG 0.163 g/l
    CSF IGG?Alb Ratio 31
    ALB Index 12.4

    IGG INdex 108
    Serum IGG 12.2 g/l

I've read that protein levels in CSF & WBC found in Multiple Sclerosis patients are usually slightly elevated. For Protein that would be 60-75 m/l and any thing over 100 should be given great consideration for an alternate diagnosis as well as anything over 50WBC.

Has anyone else experienced protein levels and a WBC count this high?
