    Update - New Neuro

I met with my new neuro yesterday (nothing wrong with my old one - just new one specializes in MS). She was very kind and really made sure she understood my history, my symptoms and my life in general. My evoked potentials tests came back normal for vision and arms, but abnormal for legs (which I expected bc that is where my symptoms are). We are both in agreement of no steroids for just sensory exacerbations but will explore if something more serious. She told me to take 4000 units of vitamin d a day once I finish with this prescription dose - she also suggested my son take some as well. She reiterated to me that I am in a good place and that my prognosis is good (I am clinging to that like a life raft). So, as much as I can, I am going to wake up and enjoy/treasure each day - even if I vibrate. (PS...can someone please tell me how to separate into paragraphs? I can't figure out how to do that )

I switched to an MS Specialist in 2008, after six years with a general neurologist. I also really liked my neuro, but, my MS was just too out-of-control, and the switch was a good move for me. It means a twice per year trip to Kansas City (a three-hour drive), instead of Wichita (30 minutes), but it's been worth it.

Glad you made the switch to a specialist. They really have more experience with MS.

    Symptoms began in JAN02
    - Dx with RRMS in OCT03, following 21 months of limbo, ruling out lots of other dx, and some "probable stroke" and "probable CNS" dx for awhile.
    - In 2008, I was back in limbo briefly, then re-dx w/ MS: JUL08
    .

    - Betaseron NOV03-AUG08; Copaxone20 SEPT08-APR15; Copaxone40 APR15-present
    - Began receiving SSDI / LTD NOV08. Not employed. I volunteer in my church and community.

Thanks for the update, Boymom. Glad you made the switch! It made a world of difference for me when I went from a general neuro to a MS specialist.

To make a new paragraph, just hit enter twice after the end of the sentence.

Glad you're in a good place
