Has anyone had problems with their joints while taking Tysabri? I'm not talking about transient joint pain, which I know is a reported side effect of the infusions, but joint laxity or joint swelling/pain/degeneration?
In the past few years, I've had: 1) S-I joint laxity which caused pain, and 2) sudden, acute effusion of one knee. Neither was preceded by any trauma, pain, or stiffness, like you'd expect from osteoarthritis.
Both have been treated by my docs as sports-related or age-related osteoarthritis, but I'm not so sure. On MRI/X-ray, my knee shows only very subtle age-related wear-and-tear for someone of my age, and it just went from normal to swollen and immobile practically overnight.
I've been to four docs about my knee (and will see a rheumatologist soon), but wanted to see if others have had any problems like this, possibly due to Tysabri. The possible options seem to be an infectious arthritis such as Lyme or an immune-moderated arthritis such as RA.
