prednisone side effects

I was wondering whether any of you took high dose prednisone for a flare.
My neuro prescribed 1250mg of prednisone daily for 5 days.
What kind of side effects can I expect with such a high dose?

I've been through a round of that, and the worst side effect was unreasonable crying. I'd be working, typing a document, and just start crying. If someone had pointed out a typo, or if I had overcooked dinner, I'm sure I would have broken down in tears. It lasted about a month. It didn't happen each day, but some days were bad.

steroids whether IV or PO, are hard on your body. They can cause your bones to thin, moon face, acne, weight gain, mood swings, and various other side effects that depends on what other medications.
