The MS meds (DMD's = disease modifying drugs) are designed to:
    1. reduce the fx of MS flares
    2. reduce the severity of flares
    3. delay the progression of the disease

My advice would be to get on an MS med as soon as possible. It took almost two years for me to be dx'd and, during that delay, my MS progressed quite a bit.
