This case really hit home for me. I coudn't figure out how to put a link to the article from Huffington Post.
It was mentioned that not only was she caring for her non-verbal son with autism, but her husband had just been diagnosed with MS.
Not only are we raising a child with autism, but my son and I were diagnosed within 3 months of eachother. It's been a difficult, but rewarding journey. Not once have I ever thought life would be easier without him.
I guess this story highlights what we all fear, that our caregivers will get overwhelmed with our needs.
It made me realize what a wonderful husband I have. He has never given up on me. He is a wonderful father. He provides so much for us all.
Thank goodness our family has not gone down this road. I cannot imagine killing my own child, no matter how bad things got.
Interesting story. We all have issues besides MS to worry with. Too bad this woman didn't feel like she had the help she needed.
Thanks to all the caregivers out there. We literally could not do it without you.
