Eye shimmers

I had my second episode of eye shimmers last night. I had my first about 5 month ago. I may have had minor occurrences since but last night was for sure. Hundreds of tiny super bright white lights in my vision. It almost looks like fire flys flying around me.

Anyone else experiencing this? How often and does it keep getting worse? Have you ever had it happen well driving?

This does scare me, I value my eyes greatly...

Hi Dale, sounds like you need a dilated eye exam as that could be serious or just age. I would say call your eye dr. right away just in case. Eye problems are scary, just the peace of mind makes it worth calling. Good luck!

I agree that you need to see an ophthalmologist. You don't want to mess with your vision - especially while driving.

I had something similar many years ago - shimmers/flashers radiating out with colors which was the precursor to ON.

Not saying this is the case for you!! but nevertheless, you should have it checked out. And hopefully soon while you are experiencing this.
