Your thoughts on my recent MRI???

    Hi everyone,

Been on this journey for 2 years now. My first symptoms was Tinnitus/Ear Pain/Dizziness for months.

My first MRI in Jan of 2012 said " excessive demyelination for someone of her age group" "need to exclude primary MS, vasculitis..ect.."

Fast forward to today, I'm DX with TN, I have a high positive ANA (all other lupus,RA factors negative). So I'm being monitored by an MS specialist and a Rheumy.

My last MRI was for pain behind my right side of face with no help from migrain meds or morphine.

    Here is the latest report.

"Scattered punctate peripheral foci of T2 and T2 FLAIR white matter hyperintensity show no significant change since prior, allowing for differences in technique. These are nonspecific, possibly reflecting chronic migraine headaches in a patient of this age. Less likely vasculitis or demyelination, unlikely to be nonspecific small vessel ischemic change. Correlate clinically

Impression: No significant change from prior

Been dealing with a lot of nerve pain and weird symptoms

Should i be happy that I dont have significant change...or should I question why I have some change from my last MRI from last year in Feb 2013.

    Thanks for listening!

    Hi Minnie,

    Less likely vasculitis or demyelination
The report indicates demyelination is less likely which would indicate less likely for MS.

However, the MRI is only one piece of your medical puzzle and should be interpreted by your Neurologist based on your medical history, testing, ect.

Should i be happy that I dont have significant change...or should I question why I have some change from my last MRI from last year in Feb 2013.
That's hard to say, but when in doubt always ask questions of your Dr.
