    Solu medrol question

Good morning all. My question is...do I go tomorrow for solu medrol or not? A brief synopsis...after having extreme fatigue for several weeks my neurologist put me on a prednisone regimen for 12 days, starting with 60 mgs and tapering down. This had zero effect so I was able to get in to see my MS specialist last Tuesday. he said he never prescribes the oral steroid and wanted me to do solu medrol. Well, because of insurance delays it is not until tomorrow that I will receive it.
I am feeling somewhat better since last week...say a 4 on a scale to 10, when previously I would say a 2. Now I am unsure if I want to go through with this, or just wait out this fatigue. Also, this is my first time....is this something I can drive home after or do I need a friend??
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

You can drive yourself there and back. My experience with IVSM is that sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. It always leaves a terrible taste in your mouth. It messes up my insides afterwards, hard to explain except that I feel bleh.

If it is not a financial burden, give it a shot. It may help speed up your recovery.

Hi GiGi: You will have no problem driving home after an IVSM treatment. Most are done at home, some however, are done at centers like yours. They may or may not give you a benadryl at the site to keep you from having an allergic reaction. You can choose to take it or not. (I may be confusing this with Tysabri...I have to take those), anyway they just put an IV in, give you the med, and send you on your merry way. Since you have already had some solumedrol, you will be feeling great after the first day of IVSM.

I would do it, just because you have already taken all of those steroids and you are only at a 4. IVSM can get you to 10 or at least near 10.

Hope all goes well for you!
      Take care
