I really understand this. Because of my illness last yr, I am just getting to where I can walk without a walker, but am only able to walk short distances. I was always very active...I am a nurse, disabled/retired, and I was always go, go, go. I find myself not going to dinner, or the grocery, yard sale's scrapbooking, because I have to have my scooter to do any of it. My family is very loving & giving but I hate piling all the extra work on them. Its an ordeal just to go for a dr's appt. In the last few months I am finally at the point where I can make myself something to eat, wash dishes, do laundry. For 3 months my son drove to Syracuse every single day to be with me, a 5hr round trip. He even delayed finishing high school because of it. I have WONDERFUL SONS!! But at what point do I say ok you have done more then enough....how do you all deal with the stress your familys are put under.
