Hey PPMSer's what medicines / treatments do you take ?

I have PPMS and I am frustrated that my neurologist has nothing for me. I only take medicines for problems like UTI's. I take LDN (that he doesn't prescribe) and some hydrocortisone ( also not prescribed by my neurologist ).
I'd like to hear what others with PPMS are doing to help themselves.

Mostly just symptom management. Listed in my signature.

I have an rx for Lyrica too which I am going to start next week to see if it will help my neuropathy in my hands. They are constantly pins and needles.

What does the 4AP do for you, misslux?

It helps a bit with fatigue and makes moving a little easier. If my evening dose is late, I really notice a difference with coordination.

dx 1997 and am 67. Tried stuff to slow down progression but made me sick. Chemo, cellcept , cordisone, stuff to mess with white cells, never worked. Now taking things for symptoms. Baclofen, gabapentin, clonazepam, little carbidopa.

all I take, I take for symptom management, nothing for the MS directly.

The LDN is for modulating endorphin production and the hydrocortisone is to give me a little energy throughoutthe day. Both of these drugs are prescribed by my 'naturopath' who is also an MD.

misslux, I think the drugs are doing something for my fatigue and probably help me get some restful sleep. The truth of it all is that I am reaching for anything that 'may' help me. Good luck

                            This is very informative.

Husband is having voice issues - speech slowed down, halting (worse in the am and at night).

Is there anything he can take for this or any kind of therapy? I'm worried that eventually he'll lose his voice completely.

Does any other longtime ppmser deal with this issue??

Hunterd can you let me know what med you take for vertigo?

This is a big problem for H and one of the reasons he feels so badly most of the time.

                              thanks!

We can't get in to see his neuro for six months here in Canada.

Maybe I should just take him to ER.
