glad you are ok, that would have been very scarey for you and your partner even if he is a medical professional (its different when its your own family member in strife!)

i have a nursing background so i too am careful about my meds and make sure that i understand what the potential adverse effects are, i also make sure that i sue the same pharmacist all the time as well, they help keep track of things such as the chance my neurologist may prescribe something that interacts with something that my pain specialists prescribe etc in case they miss it ( i always tell each doctor about other meds different doctors may have prescribed but the pharmacist is like a safety net)

i had been taking one of the disease modifiers for about 4 months, i had bee using copaxone and other than the typical red blotches that are common with copaxone, i had never had any other side effects, they one day i went to give myself my shot, i was in the bathroom in front of the mirror- almost instantly my face ballooned up to almost double size and i had trouble breathing etc- i was having a massive anaphylactic reaction- i used my emergency pedant to get hlp and the paramedics arrived soon after, i was given adrenaline and taken to ED for observations and more treatment. i knew that one could develop sensitivity/allergy at any time but certain did not expect such a rapid change! i changed to betaseron after that!

Wow, that is SCARY! Good thing you got help right away!! I'm glad you're okay. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live in a disease-free, medicine-free world. Oh yeah...that's heaven (at least my version of heaven!). Sigh.
