Hey guys!
My name is Kait, I am 22 years old, from Northern Ontario Canada and I'm just in the process of being diagnoised with MS. I work as an ECE and have just settled into finding my true calling and career path. I'm hoping MS won't slow me down too much as I just find an eagerness to go to work every day and stay late if needed.
I live with my boyfriend here in Ontario, Canada and we currently are both working full time and working on some renovations soon come this winter (yay new floors!).We have one dog, a husky who loves rolling in the snow and knocking over my tomato plants.
In June I was diagnosed with optic neuritis (after 2 weeks my boss kinda made me go see the doctor because I'm stubborn). After that my life has been kinda go go go! In July I had an MRI without the injection and then an MRI in August with the injection. After this MRI, lesions were found in my head and neck and of course I've been having all types of symptoms. I've been diagnosed a possible MS but my doctor seems quite sure of this diagnosis and were just waiting for my neurologist to schedule an appointment.
I just finished day on of a 3 day high dose steroid treatment plan and I am founding myself empowered today about everything though I'm sure it has something to do with my treatment haha. After 10 days of what the doctor called a flare up, he sent me to steroids. I'm a bit apprehensive abou the steroids knowing their links to thinning bones but I'm sure I'm going to meet a whole slew of side effects that go with many of the treatment options.
Taking it one day at a time and staying positive! Yesterday was a rough day just confirming I needed to get treated but today is a new day and it was great. I'm hoping this positivity remains but hey I'll take it. It'll be great meeting many of you and I'm truly thankful for a support system like this.
