Rebif and Alcohol?

Hey all,

I was just wondering if it was allowed or actually safe to have a beer or two or even a glass of wine or two on my shot days? Ive been on rebif for about 10 weeks now and Im just wondering what everyone thought. I do not want to put myself in any danger. Thanks!!

It's "allowed" ... but moderation is the key. Interferons such as Rebif affect the liver, alcohol affects the liver, acetaminophen (which many of us take to alleviate interferon side effects) affects the liver.

I specifically asked my neuro this recently, and he told me that 1-2 drinks every now and again was fine, but that drinking daily was a bad plan. If you need more specific guidelines, it's probably best to ask your doc.
