I take 250mg of Nuvagil every day. It has changed my life. I can feel it as soon as I take it, more alert. I have no side effects, but it probably took my body about a week to get used it it. I tried provigil but it did not work for me. I was also taking a much smaller does (100mg).

Provigil scared the daylights out of me because it would give me a racing heart. However, I was caught inbetween a rock and a hard place because Betaseron would induce so such awful fatigue. And my appointments with my Neuro were also six months apart.

Interestingly, it was my Primary Care Physician who tremendously helped me.

He told me outright that he would never touch my MS because that was not his specialty. However, he explained that he could probably help me out with everything else, perhaps up to 80 or 90 percent.

So thus began my daily prescription of amphetamine (generic Adderall). It started off with a prescribed dosage but I didn't take it on weekends.

My PCP then explained that he constantly gets almost the identical story from mothers who feel guilty about drugging their children.

Suprisingly, it was my local pharmacist who explained that there are now so many variations of amphetamine available, especially at such a low cost.

Now my PCP has now upped the dosage to taking two pills twice a day. I always take one amphetamine and I usually take the second pill. The times that I do not take the second pill is when I miss the not taking it at noon or early afternoon.

Also, my PCP explained that way too many people have now become too reliant on a specialist when they really need a general practioner. Now I feel so comfortable with my PCP helping me out with the 80 or 90 percent of stuff that a family doctor ought to be consulted for.

Hi Greg. I just got a shipment of Teva's generic for Provigil through the mail from India. I don't have enough experience with it yet to comment (this is only my second day taking it). It didn't work for me very well yesterday, but I was wiped out and took a low dose. Today, I'm not as tired and it seems to be helping more than nothing.

I had no trouble getting to sleep, which is the problem I have with amphetamines.

It was much cheaper from India than it was from Canada. There are different generic versions, some supposedly more effective than others. But they also cost more.
I do not have MS. I have Whatchamacallit; and all of the symptoms are mirages.

I have been using Provigil for 11 years. I have had no side effects and have found it very effective in combating fatigue. Earlier this year the patent ran out and it is now available as the generic modafinil. For the first few years I was on a dose of 400 mg/day. About 5 years ago I was in a clinical study for Amyra, and with the Ampyra I was able to drop down to 200 mg/day of Provigil. 4 years ago I started taking Co Enzyme Q10 as a supplement, and was able to drop the Provigil dose down to 100 mg/day. Since the patent ran out I have been on 100 mg/day of modafinil and it keeps me awake and alert. I have never tried Nuvigil.
