    First infusion, then deadly exposure

So a week ago today, I had my first infusion at the nearby Touch center. I've been in a nursing home since last month, after a week in the hospital, and had a few different roommates including one psychopath old witch who made it her hobby to terrorize me. She got moved after I complained. Then another who went home soon afterward. Also I've had no side effects from Tysabri.

Tuesday I got a new roommate who'd just come out of the hospital and still had MRSA, and had only just been cleared of CDIF. The staff would wear hazmat-like bioprotective gear to tend to her. I couldn't see this through the curtain but the next day I heard her be told she can't leave the room because she has MRSA, then I heard a nurse ask her if she still has CDIF and she said no. Plus she uses a CPAP sporadically all night and gets medicine, IV, changed every few hours so I didn't sleep for two nights.

So I expressed extreme concern about no sleep but mainly about having just started a drug which relaxes my immune system making me more susceptible to bugs and having a MRSA patient in the same room with me who also just had CDIF and surely still has a few of these bugs hanging around even if she is not currently symptomatic (one has to wonder how long her CDIF resistance will last in light of her current MRSA infection). So they put her in a room by herself yesterday.

Meanwhile, my extreme constipation has been clearing out with extremely large or medium to large round stools. Nothing else can come out, barely even gas. But now I can feel the familiar (from food allergies) feeling of diarrhea in my bowel with cramping and that liquidy feeling but it can't come out until the hard round stools in front of it come out but it will be soon. And I've alerted my neuro and staff here that I want to be tested for CDIF if my prediction is right.

So just having continued bad luck! However, I'm also experiencing the hoped for dramatic good results of Tysabri. But can you believe they put such a dangerous risk in the room with me? None of my friends or family can...maybe we're just pansies though.

No, you have a right to be concerned for your health, especially since ty is an immune suppressant med. Yet one thing I always find that helps me, during moments of absolute craziness is just laughing about how insane and ridiculous it can get. Laughter and being positive, at least for me is the best medicine..while we go through all our trials..either we can go to the bathroom, or we go too much...our legs are numb, or they are in so much pain we wish they were numb..and on and on it goes! (me trying to be funny)

I hope Ty works well for you! Drink lots of water, stay hydrated that seems to help everything! Can in there, good things will come
