    VA vet blacklist?

Tonite I got a heads up that FOX station in Tampa area s doing a report on the VA practice of blacklisting vets and the VA practice of delaying treatments etc in hope they will DIE off first. Supposedly to be aired tonite at 10pm est.

I have for some time suspected something like this ahs been going on I Michigan for a long time. My understanding is this practice is NOT limited to Florida.

Maybe other stations/networks will pick up and follow up on this story.

I read a similar report today about the Phoenix VA hospital. The report I read was about attempts to contain cost/ demand for care by creating the 'black list' of patients that aren't included in reports to VA Admin., making it appear patients are seen within the 15? days required by VA standards.

Here is a link to the Phoenix VA hospital in the news

If the link is deleted by MSW, I used google news with 'phoenix veterans hospital' and got about a dozen articles.

Last week my VA had a press conference about the delay in treatments and benefit claims here.

According to the report my VA has the longest wait times of all VA centers for getting appointments for specialty care. The longest waits are for eye care.

The delays in getting claims for benefits has risen 400% since 2010. My VA say this is because they are processing claims for other areas that have even longer delays in processing of claims. It seems to me that they should be doing the local claims before they should even consider doing claims for other areas.

I am beginning to think I may have been black listed for care by my PC clinic. Over a month ago I sent a secure message to my PC about a medication and it was never answered (thought it had been read). Then about 2 weeks ago I sent a secure message to get an appointment with my PC which was again never answered. Today I called about an appointment and still have not gotten an appointment ( was told the nurse would call back). Why would they be having a nurse call to schedule an appointment and not the person that handles appointments?

Wed. I have an appointment in Nashville for acupuncture and if I have not heard anything about getting an appointment with my PC by then I'll definitly be stopping by the patient acvocacy office once again. Stopped by there 2 weeks ago as I haven't been getting my appointment for my MS neuro which was suppose to be almost 2 months ago.

My husband asked about getting appointment for a yearly check. They told him he was on tier 2 and they didn't have a doctor available for that tier. He really didn't have any concerns, just thought he needed a check-up so didn't pursue it. We live in a small town in Oregon about 5 hours away from Portland. There is a VA clinic about 23 miles away but they always have a shortage of doctors and only have nurse . He's been treated pretty well by the VA. The only fight we've had is his practisioners Infusions. They want him to go to Portland for the infusions. He can't travel that far so he has Medicare and a supplemental to cover the costs.
