New here, sick of being sick, n pain all the time.

hello, thank you for allowing me into your life, world. I was told over 20 years ago that I have MS, I was told the same time I found out that my baby was going to die within a year. Now sadly she is gone but still with me everyday, I am still here in this lonely and painful world, nobody seems to care about me being in pain. when I go places I fall down for no reason, most of the time I can't stand up for to long without falling down and alot of the time my speech is not good and people make fun of me for it, But it do not stop me from doing the things that i need to do for myself. I live in an upstairs apartment and most days I fall down the stairs insteed of waliking down the steps like a normal person. when I cross the street I fall in the street, can't get right up so I have to lay in the street until I can get up. It's sad when you have family and they don't care about you.

Greeting Saveme and welcome to MSWorld.. Gosh, I am so terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your dear precious baby- and to get a diagnose within such a short time must have been devastating!

You are in a lot of pain now and I'm wondering if you have talked to your doctor about this?? There are some good medications now that help people with MS significantly! Surely a doctor would help you, but you need to be your own advocate and let him/her know!

Secondly, do you use a cane or some other assistive devise to help you with walking? I remember years ago falling down many times during the day and realizing it was time to start using a cane. Having a cane or walker will help keep you from falling, believe me! The thought or you laying in the street sounds dangerous!!

I'm sorry you are in pain, but you can do something about it! If you have already tried a medication for pain, maybe it's time to find one that works for you. Family and friends will never truly understand what we go through. But we do @MSW and we care! Please take care of yourself and get some help - OK? Come here often, ask questions and know You are not alone!

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time.

Have you talked to your doctor for a referral to occupational and physical therapy to help with strategies? I also second the use of a cane or a walker for safety.

Hang in there. Everyone here is really nice and understanding.
