    QUESTION

    HI....DOES MS AFFECT YOUR HAIR?

    #2
The DMDs can, but I don't believe the MonSter will affect your hairs on your head.

Ditto what toomnyhats said! When I tried avonex, I was losing handfuls of hair! It was amazing and scary cause no one with the avonex group even mentioned it. And wth, hair is hair, but it was scary at first......couldn't tolerate avonex for so many other reasons, so now just flying by the seat of my pantaloons!!!! Ilsa

I lose handfuls of hair every time I wash it...but sadly I have so much it doesn't seem to make a difference. I do have hypothyroidism though, and that is one of the sx. i broke down and got a Japanese straightening treatment to try and smooth and thin out all that hair - works pretty well!. Don't know how much or how little the MS affects my hair loss.

Well, I was told that Avonex is like a low-dose chemo when I asked why my hair was falling out. I cut my hair when I got tired of sweeping up hair around the house and that was in September. It grows slower now and my hair guy said the texture changed - like baby soft.

I'm 8 weeks off Avonex and am still having hair loss - I was told that it could be stress and to look for shampoo with Biotin in it? Hope that helps.

I am on copaxone and my hair is slow growing and falls out too. I take biotin twice a day and it seems to help. I also switch shampoo and conditioner to an anti breakage one. I am not sure if it is really helping or if I just think it is.

As already stated, MS does not affect hair. Many different medications can cause hair loss or thining as well as some other causes.

One product that I highly recommend Is Nioxin hair care products. This is not only my recommendation but Nioxin has the recommendation of Dermatologists.

              Information about Nioxin:

Nioxin hair care products but I used Natural hair regrowth supplements from Reloxe which has the same ingredient with Nioxin.
