A book called "It's Not All In Your Head"

Thought I would tell some of the newbies (like me) about this book "It's Not All In Your Head". I got it free from joining MS Active Source, which is free to join, in fact that's where I first found out about MS World.

I read it, then gave it to my 16 year old daughter to read. It was helpful for me and her too. She had lots of questions that I thought the book would help with. Though we still have tons of questions , its a good start.

I truly believe Knowledge is Power, so.... if I am going to have any power over this disease, I need to have knowledge about it. I know it is so overwhelming at first and I can only take so much then need a break , but that is just the way I am, I just have to get all the info I can. I have learned a lot being on these boards and reading your stories. It has helped a lot and scared me a bit too(but I'm still here!). Anyway just thought I would share .

Everything went good at my Neuros. She starting me on Amantadine for my fatigue. I hope it helps, I am tired of being tired...lol I've never taken so many meds before...lol guess it's a part of life now. I also talked to her about some anti-oxidants, acetyl L-Carnidine and alpha lipoic acid and she said we could try those if we want, I said "we huh? you taking them to?" lol

well that's all I've got for ya, night all! AnnaMae aka Tracy

    Hi Tracy, and Welcome!

Thanks for the recommendation. I had it on my 'wish list' on Amazon. I didn't know I could get it for free.

Someone else recommended a book that I am reading right now, "Facing the Cognitive Challenges of MS" by Gingold. So far, it's good!

I am taking Alpha Lipoic Acid and I'm going to order the L-Carnidine, too.

Many people with MS are also deficient in vitamin D, and I feel a lot better for having started it.

I'm glad you found us here!
