    cvs/caremark on my last nerve

yeah, I am venting. I cannot stand dealing with this pharmacy for my ampyra. I cannot get it locally thru my wonderful local pharmacy, it has to be thru overnight delivery with cvs/caremark.

    they have
-changed shipping from fed ex to ups without telling me. that is a diff delivery person at school where I work/get delivery. UPS uses electronic signature, so i had no idea where the med was for 3 days cuz no one had to sign, even though it says sig required right on it.

    - they have me call and put me on hold forever many times

    - last night they had me call, the person said, you do not have a prescrip and there is no fax from dr for 3 mo scrip and "oh I can't help you" though she LEFT ME HER NUMBER TO CALL. so she transferred me- on hold for 10 min and I gave up.

    - called back, got a competent one who found the scrip, found the new 3 month scrip, organized my shipment, no "on hold", no problems.

just venting. I hate the hassle. I am too tired when I get home at night for this.

    thanks for listening

I feel your pain. I too have to deal with CVS "Speciality Pharmacy" and have to call to have the RX sent. Like I don't have enough with my cog fog brain to remember to call! I finally got a direct number to the speciality pharmacy so at least I don't have go to through ten people to get there now. At least I have "A" number they gave me. I'll see if it works next month!!!!

      12 minute hold each time

I have had to deal with CVS and their specialty pharm. for years now.

I have kept track of my hold times. When I needed to call in to renew it was always a 12 minute hold regardless of if I called at lunch from school or from home later. Even with the direct line.= very maddening.

My kids are all on multiple asthma meds and it is equally frustrating.

But our district on offers this pharmacy coverage and we "have" to use the mail in service if the medicine is considered maintainence medication.

The only time we can use our local pharmacy is for shorterm meds.

I usually give my dr. the cvs fax number and ask them to deal with the first rx and the 3 month rx.

At least CVS ships mine to the house and sends the kids and my neurontin and amantadine through the mail. The Fed Ex man brought my copaxone and I didn't need a signature. I am now on the wash out period for the C before I start Gilenya. I don't need to sign for the Ampyra either.

They always ask if it can be left without a signature. We live out in the country, so it isn't a problem.

Good luck with this. I know it is frustrating.
